Front Lacing Linen Stays

We’ve taken our already high-quality stays and made them even better. This updated version reflects months of refinement in construction, materials, and fit—without compromising the historical integrity you’ve come to expect from us.

These half-boned stays feature strategically placed boning for a structured, supportive silhouette that remains breathable and comfortable. The most notable improvement is the use of 100% linen for both the outer and inner layers—replacing the previous cotton lining with a more period-appropriate fabric for increased authenticity and durability.

We’ve also upgraded the lacing and shoulder ties to 7mm French Linen Tape, the same tape we offer separately on our website. The boning channels have been reinforced for improved longevity, and we’ve fine-tuned the overall fit based on customer feedback and extensive wear testing.

One of the most appreciated features remains: the easily removed shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are attached to the stay independently. By taking out the stitch on the strap, they can be easily removed without damaging the body of the stay. In place of modern grommets, this version now features stitched eyelets for a more accurate historical finish. Each pair includes a matching boned stomacher.

These stays can be worn with either spiral laced or cross laced—both options are historically plausible, and reference photos for each method are provided.
